Guardian News Article Notes.
Big budget ‘Hollywood’ films and
blockbuster franchises are making it very difficult for the small low budget
film industry to survive.

the Film industry with big budget companies such as Netflix creating their own
films/ shows e.g. The Crown (£100 million budget).
The investment in TV production by US
companies such as Amazon and Netflix has imcreased from £252 million in 2013 to
£500 million last year.
Many film companies e.g. Working Title are
moving into the TV sector due to the lucrative opportunities they hold.
The spend in 2017 on mid/small budget films
has grown by 30% to £32 million.
